There are many settings inside of Mastercam 2D Dynamic Milling Toolpath. This video series will cover every single setting and provide examples for each. In this first video starts by looking at the Cut Order Optimization field. Here we have options for Material, Air, or None. When the tool finishes a machining pass, it must select a start point to resume from. ‘Material’ will start at the material that is closest to the tool, ‘None’ will start at the most recently machined material, and ‘Air’ starts nearest to the tool. Next we look at the Cutting Method which also contains the optional Conventional Feedrate setting. Cut Method sets the machining direction of the toolpath. Climb sets the direction of the cut to be opposite of the tool rotation. Conventional sets the direction of the cut to be the same as the tool rotation. Zig Zag allows both Climb and Conventional tool directions. With the Zig Zag Cutting Method chosen, the Conventional Feedrate setting becomes available. This allows setting a different feedrate for the Conventional motion during this toolpath. The benefit of Zig Zag is to cut down on time when the machine is not cutting. However, sometimes Conventional cutting is not ideal at the same feedrates as a Climb cut. Being able to adjust this feedrate allows utilizing the Zig Zag motion while not damaging the cutter by over feeding in a Conventional cutting motion. We will continue with this file in the next video. #Mastercam #LearnCNC

(http•••) Watch the trailer for the new DVD and Blu-ray "Parsifal" by Richard Wagner, conducted by Christian Thielemann on Deutsche Grammophon. The opera was recorded at the Salzburg Easter Festival earlier in 2013 - the Wagner bicentenary year. The cast includes the great heldentenor Johan Botha in the title role, Michaela Schuster as the enigmatic Kundry, Danish bass Stephen Milling as Gurnemanz and, in another break with tradition, Wolfgang Koch in the two baritone roles of Amfortas and Klingsor.
