Pierre Alexandre Monsigny Alexandre Croisez Paul Dukas Opéra Comique
». Alexandre Croisez Naderman Halévy 1814 1825 1829 1831 1832 1886
Alexandre Croisez: L'Hirondelle et le Prisonnier [Prisoner and the swallow], Caprice de genre Op.58 Alexandre Croisez +••.••(...)) was a French pianist, harpist and composer born in Paris. From 1825 to 1832, He studied at the Paris Conservatory, where he was a pupil of Naderman (harp) and Halévy (composition). He received the second prize for harp in 1829, and the first in 1831. However, he was convinced that harp was not a steady means to earn livelihood because the instrument had lost popularity among amateurs. So he devoted himself to studying piano, and then he published many piano pieces of medium difficulty. (http•••)
Alexandre Croisez Yradier 1814
Phillip Sear plays a short divertimento depicting 'jingle bells', or a bell-tree, by the French composer Alexandre Croisez +••.••(...)). / I have found little information on the French composer Alexandre Croisez +••.••(...)), except that he was sometime harpist at the Paris Opera - although he is best remembered for his piano music. Interestingly, in one of his Spanish tinged piano works, he was apparently the first to introduce to Paris the famous 'La Paloma' by Yradier. His most famous piano piece was 'L'hirondelle et le prisonnier : caprice de genre : op. 58'. The title of the set from which this piece comes translates to English as 'childish things', in the meaning of (boys') toys. / / Played by Phillip Sear (http•••) (Email: •••@••• WhatsApp: (http•••) )
