It’s one of the British composer’s early works and lay forgotten for many years. The first performance of the Double Concerto (arranged by Colin Matthews) was given at the 50th Aldeburgh Festival by Katherine Hunka and Philip Dukes with the Britten-Pears Orchestra conducted by Kent Nagano, in 1997.
