Del 20 al 24 de abril de 2022 se representa en la Fundación Juan March de Madrid el melodrama "La canción de amor y muerte del alférez Christoph Rilke de Viktor Ulmann", en una producción de Ernesto Caballero. En este vídeo, los protagonistas de esta producción –Sofya Melikyan, Carmen Conesa y Borja Luna– hablan junto a Caballero de la obra del compositor checo, quien la compuso durante su encierro en el campo de concentración de Theresienstadt.

Scarlatti Sonatas in A major L. 495, D major L. 424, D major L. 465 Marek Drewnowski - piano, rec. 1972 Pianist, professor at the Academy of Music in Lodz, where he runs piano classes. Drewnowski pursued his studies in Warsaw with Ryszard Bakst and Zbigniew Drzewiecki. After professor Drzewiecki's death he moved to Kraków , where he completed his studies at the PWSM in Jan Hoffman's class. He is the co-author (with I. Cywińska) of Enchantment of Frederic, a film about Frederic Chopin. The recording of Scarlatti's Twelve Sonatas in 1975 won him wide critical acclaim. After having listened to this interpretation of Scarlatti, Leonard Bernstein asked the pianist to perform with his Boston Symphony Orchestra. Marek Drewnowski has given concert performances in the foremost concert halls of the U.S., Europe and Japan. He took part in the 50th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II memorial concert, where he appeared with such celebrated artists as Leonard Bernstein, Barbara Hendriks, Herman Prey and Liv Ulmann. The concert was televised by numerous broadcasting companies to audiences all over the world. For his interpretation of Stefan Kisielewski's Piano concerto at the "Warsaw Autumn"Festival in 1991, he won the prestigious "Orpheus" Prize, awarded by the Music Critics Association. Marek Drewnowski's recordings feature Scarlatti's Sonatas, Weber's Piano concertos and a series of Chopin recordings (including a chamber version of his two piano concertos). Recently, he has recorded Tansman's Piano concerto and Szymanowski's 4th Symphony concertante. (culture.pl) MAREK DREWNOWSKI was born in Kolobrzeg, Poland and began playing the piano as a young child. He went on to study piano at the Warsaw Academy of Music with Ryszard Bakst and Zbigniew Drzewiecki. After Professor Drzewiecki's death, he moved to Krakow where he graduated from the local PWSM (High School of Music) as a student of Jan Hoffman. His first noticeable success, both within Poland and abroad, came with his recording of the 12 Piano Sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti, issued in 1975. After listening to this recording, Leonard Bernstein invited Mr. Drewnowski to perform with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He went on to play concerts in some of the most splendid and famous concert halls in Europe, the United States and Japan. In September 1989 Mr. Drewnowski, alongside world-famous artists such as Leonard Bernstein, Barbara Hendricks, Herman Prey and Liv Ulman, participated in the performance of a solemn concert marking the occasion of the 50th anniversary of World War II. The entire event was broadcast by television stations throughout the world. In 1991 Mr. Drewnowski received the prestigious "Orpheus" award from the SPAM (Stowarzyszenia Polskich Artystów Muzyków, Polish Artists and Musicians Association) Music Critics for his performance of the world premiere of Stefan Kisielewski's Piano Concerto at the Warsaw Autumn contemporary music festival. His recordings include Domenico Scarlatti's Sonatas, the Piano Concertos of C.M. von Weber released by FREQUENZ, ARTE, and a series of records with TONPRESS and of Chopin music and piano concertos in chamber form (quintet) which have been brought back to concert stages thanks to him. His recent recordings include Tansman's 2nd Piano Concerto and Szymanowski's 4th Symphony Concertante. He recorded Chopin's piano concertos and 19 waltzes on video compact for NVC Arts in London and New York. He received high critical acclaim for his recordings of Chopin's renowned Piano Concertos for BELOVED ENTERTAINMENT GROUP (Dinemec) in New York and for his recordings with EXTON (OCTAVIA records) in Tokyo. Mr. Drewnowski is the founder and manager of the Hofmann and I.J. Paderewski Festivals in Nalecow, as well as the the famous Chopin Soloists Quintet and Chopin Soloists Orchestra. He acted the role of Frederick Chopin in the movie, "The Chopin's Concert" ("Koncert Chopina") by Krzysztof Zanussi and co-produced the film, "The Fascination of Frederick" ("Oczarowanie Fryderyka") by Izabela Cywinska. Mr. Drewnowski is a professor at the Lodz Academy of Music in Poland and gives master classes all over the world. He is currently devoted to recording the piano concertos and other treasures from the work of W.A. Mozart in preparation for the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth.
