Composed by TAKASHI HAYASHIDA(林田 喬) Profile Born in Taito-Ku, Tokyo, in 1932, he is the second son of six siblings and has teachers' parents. Influenced by his mother, he began composing music at 15. In 1952, at the age of 20, he studied under Naotada Yamamoto +••.••(...)) for four years and was hired to compose many dance pieces but gradually became interested in the 12-tone technique. In 1957, he sent some of his original compositions to Luigi Dallapiccola (Italian composer 1904-1975), who encouraged his style and sent him to Florence to study contemporary music. After returning to Japan, he devoted himself to composing music using the 12-tone technique and taught brass bands and musical arrangements. Currently, he continues to compose music without affiliation. He is a great admirer of Pierre Boulez (French composer 1925-2016). His major works include a 12-note piano sonata, Symphony Hotaka, Symphony Azusa River, and more than 60 dance and vocal pieces. His works have been adopted by the Society of Polish Composers and are used as teaching materials for young musicians.
