Karl Ristenpart +••.••(...)) leads the Saar Chamber Radio Orchestra in this performance of the third movement of Mozart's Serenade in G major, K. 525 ("Eine Kleine Nachtmusik"). I created this music video from the LP shown above, issued on the Musical Heritage Society label, serial number MHS 753. The Library of Congress online catalogue listing for this LP is available for review here: (http•••) Movement 3: Minuetto: Allegretto Movement 4: (http•••) So no question arises in the minds of those listening to this recording, I rely in large part for images on the LP label and jacket to document the authenticity of extremely rare performances such as this. The date indicated in the LOC listing is 1967, but that is the date the MHS LP was manufactured. Because this recording was licensed to MHS by Erato, and given that the conductor died in 1967, I suspect that this performance was recorded considerably earlier, possibly the mid-to-late 1950s. Also from this LP: Serenata Notturna (Serenade in D major), K. 239 - Marcia - (http•••) My playlist with all the Ristenpart recordings I have uploaded is here: (http•••) Members of the Chamber Orchestra of the Saar (some of whom you hear in this recording) included Georg-Friedrich Hendel, Hans-Martin Linde, Gunter Hoeller, Jean-Pierre Rampal, and Robert Veyron-Lacroix (whose performances of baroque harpsichord works you can find in at least one of my playlists). A fairly good write-up of Ristenpart can be viewed on Wikipedia here: (http•••) / Маленькая ночная серенада / Serenata n.º 13 para cuerdas en sol mayor / Pieni yösoitto / Une petite musique de nuit / מוזיקת לילה זעירה / Kis éji zene / Serenata in Sol maggiore K 525 / Serenade voor strijkers nr. 13 in G majeur, KV 525 / Serenade Nr. 13 for strykekvartett og bass i G-dur / Mała nocna serenada / Mała nocna muzyka / Mały nokturn / If you enjoy Mozart I recommend the following: Mozart / Karl Ristenpart: Eine Kleine Nachtmusik - Serenade in G major, K. 525 - Allegro - (http•••) Geza Anda, 1962, Concerto in G major, K. 453: (http•••) Alicia de Larrocha: Rondo a la Turca - Hispavox, Late 1950s / Early 1960s - (http•••) Eugene List: Piano Concerto in A major, K 488 - Movement 1 - (http•••) Krystian Zimerman: Klaviersonate D-dur, KV. 311 - (http•••) Alfred Brendel: Klavierkonzert B-dur KV 450 (3) - Philips, 1982, Marriner - (http•••) Emil Gilels / Эмиль Гилельс, February 1959: Piano Concerto, K. 467 - Movement 3 - (http•••) Leonard Bernstein, 1966, Concerto in B flat, K. 450 - (http•••) Maria João Pires, 1973, No. 9 in E flat major - (http•••) Wilhelm Kempff, 1960, Piano Concerto in C minor, K. 491 - (http•••) Menahem Pressler, Piano Concerto in B flat major, K. 450, 1974 - (http•••) / Début 1946, après la division de Berlin en zones, Ristenpart se voit confier la production de musique chorale et orchestrale pour l'émetteur du RIAS (Radio in the American Sector).
