Hiroshi Ohya was born in 1935. After being supported by Saburo Takada and Yuzuru Shimaoka at the Kunitachi College of Music, he became a teacher and was involved in composing many school songs and songs for Hino City. His style was moderate and his personality was very honest and honest, which is completely different from modernism. We are grateful for the offer. I would like to make the data here and dedicate it to the spirit of my seniors in my hometown. In addition, Dr. Ohya passed away in 2009. This video was made with the help of the Nagoya U. My original plan was to play this piece to celebrate my mother’s 88th birthday. Sadly, however, I am now playing it in her memory. She did not provide any programme notes for the piece, so I am just writing down what she told me. The first movement apparently depicts me as child (the violin part) and my younger sister (piano) playing at a nearby shrine. Listening to the music, one can sense my mother’s happiness as she gazes at the scene. The second movement, Adagio, evokes my mother’s favourite topic: becoming purified as one ascends to heaven. It was meant to express the idea that she would continue to think of her children even after her death. I used to play these two movements as an encore piece, in reverse order, as I did not want to think about my mother’s death. Today I am going to play them in their original order. My mother’s given name, Kiku, has nothing to do with ‘KIKU’, the support group for Tibetan children, of which I am a member. However, it is strange that I happened to join a group with the same name as my mother and become a foster parent through them, and have now ended up playing this piece at this concert. I can only think that I am being guided by something invisible. Sumine Hayashibara (violin) Born in Tokyo, Sumine Hayashibara started learning violin from Professor Ryosaku Kubota of the Toho School of Music. After her studies in Japan, she went to Trinity College of Music in London to study with Nicholas Roth, a pupil of Jenő Hubay. While studying at Trinity, she won several prizes both as a soloist and chamber music performer, and obtained her Fellowship diploma in advanced performance . She was also a member of the London Soloists’ Ensemble, appearing as soloist on a number of occasions, and for a number of years was leader of the Miklós Quartet, giving regular performances at St Martin-in-the-Fields and other London venues. She also gave two duo recitals, in St John’s, Smith Square, London and another in Tsuda Hall, Tokyo, with Joseph Seiger, who had been official accompanist for Mischa Elman. On her return to Japan, she gave recitals with an ensemble in the Purcell Room in London and the Tokyo Bunkakaikan as part of the ‘Japan 2001 Anglo-Japanese Festival’. She also appeared at Suntory Hall as a soloist in Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, at Casals Hall, as soloist in the Third Violin Concerto of Mozart, and as a soloist in the Sibelius Violin Concerto. She also gave many warmly received solo recitals, including at the Tokyo Bunkakaikan and Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall.
