Robert Schumann Rutkowski 1810 1856 2019
Frühlingsnacht from Eichendorff Liederkreis, Op. 39 by Robert Schumann +••.••(...)) Abaigael Noss, mezzo-soprano - Junior Recital Dr. Rick Hoffenberg, piano March 30, 2019 Marian Chapel - Swartz Center for Spiritual Life - Marywood University - Scranton, PA Recital presented in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance Abaigael studies with Ellen Rutkowski and coaches with Dr. Rick Hoffenberg/ The video quality isn't the greatest, but the sound is there. Translation: Over the garden in the air I heard migrating birds passing. That means spring is in the air, it has already started to bloom below. I'd like to rejoice, I'd like to weep, it seems it couldn't be true! Old wonders appear again out in the moondlight. And the moon, the stars say it, and the grove murmurs it in dreams, and the nightingales sing it: "She is yours, she is yours!"
This recording was made in 1973 at Bressingham when the organ was in the ownership of the Bloom family, it was made in 1930 for Hans konrad and made its first appearance at the Munich Octoberfest of that year. The organ was then sold at the start of the war to a buyer in Austria, Hans Konrad hoping the Voigt would be safe there. After the war the organ played in a park in Prague for many years before eventualy being imported to England. The Bloom family purchased the organ at a dealers in Yorkshire (after it had had 3 owners in about 2 years). I can remember that when the organ arrived at Bressingham there was very little playable music with it and Flora Bloom went to see Heinrich Voigt in Germany to purchase more music. The bandmaster was also supplied by Heinrich Voigt for Mrs. Bloom, who described him as a "charming man" The younger generation will know the sounds of this organ from the game "Rollercoaster Tycoon" The organ is now restored and playing beautiful, owned by my friend Herman Riddering of Garmerwolde, Nederlands. Franz Schubert Ilker Arcayürek Simon Lepper 1816
A track from the album "The Path of Life". Ilker Arcayürek sings Franz Schubert. Accompanied on the grand piano by Simon Lepper. (http•••) The Wanderer. Poem by Georg Lübeck. Composed by Schubert in 1816. I come from the mountains; the valley steams, the ocean roars. I wander, silent and joyless, and my sighs for ever ask: Where? Here the sun seems so cold, the blossom faded, life old, and men’s words mere hollow noise; I am a stranger everywhere. Where are you, my beloved land? Sought, dreamt of, yet never known! The land so green with hope, the land where my roses bloom, Where my friends walk, where my dead ones rise again, the land that speaks my tongue, O land, where are you? I wander, silent and joyless, and my sighs for ever ask: Where? In a ghostly whisper the answer comes: ‘There, where you are not, is happiness!’
