from "The Song recital for bass and piano" at Kolarac Hall, Belgrade (Serbia) April 20th 2021. Bass: Sava Vemić Flute: Anja Malkov Bassoon: Aleksa Marinković Piano: Vladimir Gligorić Composer: Aleksandar Sedlar Video: Diznilend Studio, Belgrade Audio: Miloš Marinković, Belgrade MAČKONJA (text: A. Sedlar; translation: S. Vemić) Mačkonja, where have you been Mačkonja? It’s very easy to make full of yourself, Mačkonja! Especially if you are in a foreign country where no one understands you. You could walk down the street naked and no one would care. Here you’re just another number, starting from scratch is a real challenge. Just be yourself and everything will come easily. Always be yourself! Whatever others think, you know your truth best. Mačkonja, be yourself! Every normal person is constantly wondering… Mačkonja, Mačkonja believe in yourself when you think you are stupid, when you think you are weak, when you think you are strong! Remember one thing, Mačkonja: It’s easy to be an idiot, in some apartment, in some city, when you are offered whatever, it’s easy to be an idiot, an idiot, an idiot. Mačkonja, take care of body, it could betray you. Freedom is a trap, what would your old mother say? It’s easy to be an idiot. Mačkonja! Sometimes is hard to resist because here: Everyone grows their own weed, the best in the world! Everyone grows their own weed, makes a mess in my head. And I don’t have my weed; Therefore, I take it from them, everyone grows their own weed in California! They say it’s not legal, but it’s completely normal, and everyone grows, everyone has, everyone rolls, every now and then someone asks. Everyone grows their own weed, weed, everyone grows their own weed, weed, everyone grows their own weed weed, in California! Mačkonja, why are you sad? Is it love? Be patient. Love is beautiful, when it’s real. When you rejoice with all your soul, believe and surrender… Mačkonja, you’re exaggerating… Love is beautiful in itself, unpredictable and invisible. Will you ever find your soul mate Mačkonja? Or would you rather be alone all your life? You are out of your mind, changing chicks every day! Mačkonja, trivial life will exhaust you. Surrender yourself, relax and you will see… Love is beautiful, beautiful…Mačkonja… In order to increase your chances in finding true love first you will need tooooo - loose about forty pounds. Run! Fast, Faster! It’s time to get your life in order. Mačkonja, faster, faster! Just a bit more! You can do it! Mačkonja!
