Hailed for her “fearless intensity” (Chicago Classical Review) and “intensely valid vocalism” (Voce di Meche), American mezzo soprano Erin Moll is an up-and-coming young artist who brings dynamic stage presence and sincere musical artistry to the operatic and concert stage. Praised by Chicago Stage Standard for her "creamy" voice, Ms. Moll is quickly establishing herself as a young artist to watch on the national scene. This season includes her role and house debut at Opera San José, performing and covering the role of Ines in Verdi’s Il Trovatore. The 2018-2019 season marked Ms. Moll’s debut with the Bronx Opera Company. She performed and covered the role of The Secretary in Menotti’s The Consul as well as reprised the role of Pitti-Sing in an updated version of Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Mikado. She also appeared in Death of Classical/Unison Media’s production of Dido & Aeneas taking place in the catacombs of Greenwood Cemetery. Seen portraying the Second Witch alongside Daniela Mack in the title role, Ms. Moll’s performance was lauded by OperaWire as “delightfully wicked” and by the Wall Street Journal as “comical yet deadly.” Throughout the 2017-2018 season, Ms. Moll made several significant debuts. She created the role of Austin on the World Premiere recording of Ross Crean's The Great God Pan released on Naxos America to which she was hailed as “a remarkably agile singer” (Fanfare Magazine), and made her debut appearance at the Ravinia Festival. She appeared for the first time with the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra reprising the role of Pitti-Sing in The Mikado and returned to Opéra Louisiane to make her role debut as Cousin Hebe in HMS Pinafore. About her portrayal of the “Mommy Dearest of the desert,” Chicago Classical Review wrote, “The young mezzo-soprano threw herself into the demanding role singing with volatile commitment." Ms. Moll was also seen on stage as Young Artist at Cedar Rapids Opera Theater, a Resident Artist at Thompson Street Opera Company, and a Young Artist with Nightingale Opera Theater where she sang Meg March in Adamo’s Little Women.
