Want to know what The Marcsmen Sound is and how we use it to make such great music? Here's the answer: Hey everybody, my name is Aaron. One of the most common questions we're asked is, what is The Marcsmen Sound that we refer to in most of our videos? Since our beginning in 2007, The Marcsmen have always been a relatively small chorus, but we're growing and always looking for guys who want to sing their best. Even though we are a small chorus, we always have a big sound, which we refer to as, "The Marcsmen Sound". Our brand of a cappella is actually four-part harmony made up of a variety of ingredients, including intonation (keeping on pitch), vowel matching, placement, breathing, support and more. Under the laws of physics, if each of the four parts align properly, the total sound that is created sounds much fuller than if each part were by itself. So, by singing together properly, we get a much larger sound than one would expect from such a small chorus. As part of each week's focus session, our music leadership works with the chorus to help each member to not only learn how to use their voice, but also their ear to help them learn to hear when they are using their voice correctly, and when they need to make adjustments so they are aligning with the chorus properly. Then we work to train the muscles in the body so that we can maintain a consistent sound. This is the essence of becoming a great singer. If you're a man who would like to learn to sing better, come visit The Marcsmen at one of our rehearsals.
