The Violin Master Class of Dr. Sungah Kim, The Small Hall of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. June 12, 2019 Sungah Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea and started playing the violin at the age 5. She is currently a DMA candidate at Michigan State University as well as teaching assistant to Dr. Verdehr and Professor Dmitry Berlinsky. She attained her Performer Diploma and Masters at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. There, she received the Artistic Excellence Award as well as the Jacobs Supplemental Award. She entered Seoul National University as a full scholarship student and received her Bachelor of Music there. She has been featured with many solo and won several competitions. She was the winner of the MBC Academic Music Festival Competition in 2003 resulting in her debut with the Seoul Prime Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2005, she won the American Sixth Annual National Competition. In addition, she soloed with the Guri Philharmonic Orchestra in 2007. In 2011, she was the honorable prize winner at the Schlern International Music Festival competition. She was a winner at the Forte International Competition and Grand Virtuoso International competition and major-prize winner at the American Portage Competition, Hankook Ilbo Music Competition in Young Artist Division. She has performed as a soloist at Carnegie hall, Miler Symphony Hall, Parco della Musica, Seoul Universal Art Center and Banff Arts Center. Sungah has also participated in many masterclasses, with Anni Kavafian, James Buswell, Frank Almond, Sergey Khachatryan, Victor Danchenko, Kyungsun Lee, Sergey Kravchenka. She attended at Sarasota Music Festival as a full scholarship fellow, Musashino University Music Festival, Schlern International Music Festival, Eumyoun Music Winter Festival and Hyup Music Festival. Recently, she was chosen for an artist residency at Banff, Canada. She was an assistant concertmaster in the Indiana University Orchestra and a teaching assistant at the IU String Academy. She is currently the concertmaster of Michigan State University Symphony Orchestra, and a violinist in Lansing Symphony Orchestra. She is a violin faculty member at Michigan State University Community College of Music. www.globalmusicp.com

Estratto dal concerto tenuto da Ivan Moshchuk in data 8 giugno 2019 per la stagione di musica da camera della Fondazione William Walton e La Mortella. Ivan Moshchuk è nato a Mosca ma fin dall’età di 4 anni si è trasferito con la famiglia negli Stati Uniti, dove ha intrapreso lo studio del pianoforte all’età di 11 anni. Ha ricevuto numerosi Premi e borse di studio, fra cui il 1° Premio all’ Arthur Fraser International Piano Competition e il Gilmore Young Artist Award. Ha studiato con Leon Fleisher al Peabody Conservatory della Johns Hopkins University, laureandosi nel 2013, ed ha seguito master classes con artisti del calibro di Ivan Moravec e Mikhail Voskresensky. Trasferitosi a Parigi per studiare arte e filosofia, è artista residente presso la Citè Internationale des Arts. Oltre ad essere studente al Verbier Festival Academy e all’IMS Prussia Cove, sta completando a Roma il Corso di Alto Perfezionamento dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. I suoi concerti vengono ospitati nelle maggiori città europee, nel Nord America e in Asia, in sale e istituzioni prestigiose come Concertgebouw di Amsterdam, Philharmonia di Bratislava, Chamber Music Society a Detroit. Ha suonato al Gilmore International Keyboard Festival (Kalamazoo nel Michigan), Verbier Festival in Svizzera, Banff Festival in Canada e ha recentemente debuttato con la South Carolina Philharmonic, la Lansing Symphony Orchestra e la Lublin Chamber Orchestra. Per la musica da camera, ha suonato con i Quartetti Attaca e Telegraph. Fra gli impegni più recenti si segnalano i concerti alla Chopin Foundation of the United States, al Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival e alla Detroit Opera House per il progetto “Art x Detroit Festival Ivan ha inciso CD con musiche per piano solo di Beethoven e Rachmaninoff e con prime incisioni mondiali di musiche del compositore italo-americano David DiChiera per la Innova label. Sue performances sono state registrate dalla WFMT in Chicago e dall’ American Public Media's Performance Today. In 2016 ha fondato a Detroit le Detroit Sessions, una iniziativa ideata per collegare le comunità e elevare la vivacità culturale riunendo diverse discipline artistiche in modi inaspettati: la Detroit Sessions ha ospitato artisti come Bruno Monsaingeon ed è stata recensita sulla ClassicFM di Londra, ed ha collaborato con molte della maggiori Associazioni d’Arte dell’area, fra cui il Detroit Institute of Arts e il Michigan Opera Theatre.
