Jules Egghard Liszt Carl Czerny Schubert Joseph Hellmesberger 1834 1851
"Jules Egghard" is a rather obvious pseudonym used by the Viennese pianist and composer Count Julius Hardegg +••.••(...)). He studied piano (as did Liszt) with Carl Czerny, and one of his most notable achievements as a pianist would surely have been the premiere performance - as a teenager - in Weimar in 1851 of Liszt's piano and orchestra reworking of Schubert's 'Wanderer Fantasy' under the baton of Joseph Hellmesberger. His salon pieces were once very popular, and deserve reappraisal. Whilst many of them echo Austrian folk elements, this piece is quite Germanic. / Played by Phillip Sear (http•••) YouTube community tab: (http•••) / Played by Phillip Sear (http•••) (Email: •••@••• WhatsApp: (http•••) )
