Recorded at Phonogram Studios in Milan, Italy. Audio Engineers: Davide Marinone and Michael Muti. Production manager: Adriano Solaro. Personnel orchestra manager: Gianmaria Berlendis. These were arrangements for what Carmine called the best of both movies, as well as new material, part of the television novels. That refers to 1977's The Godfather Saga, an edit of both movies in chronological order, adding around an hour of cut content. It has since then been reworked into The Godfather: The Complete Novel for Television, The Godfather Epic and other versions. You'll know you got the complete one when the runtime is 434 minutes. - Nino Rota composed the Love Theme. The OST was conducted by Carlo Savina. The melody appears on the album later as Apollonia, this time with a mandolin being accompanied by a clavietta and guitar. It also received lyrics from Larry Kusic in 1972 and was sung by Al Martino (who portrayed Vito Corleone's godson, Johnny Fontane, in the movie). Andy Williams released his version at the same time. While Franc D'Ambrosio (who portrayed Anthony Corleone in Part III) sang it in Sicilian, there had also been Italian (Parla Più Piano), French (Parle Plus Bas) and Spanish (Amor Hàblame Dulcemente) versions. The melody was first used for a Eduardo De Filippo movie named Fortunella in 1958. - The Godfather's Tarantella first appears as a segment of the track Connie's Wedding on the first movie's OST. It is a mashup with the next track, The Godfather Mazurka. It got it's first full release as The Godfather Tarantella on The Godfather's Family Wedding Album. Composed by Coppola. - The Godfather's Mazurka too. It saw six other releases: The above in 1972. On the Godfather's Family Wedding Album from 1972 as the instrumental The Godfather Mazurka and in two versions with lyrics in Italian and English by Italia Pennino (Francis Ford's mother), both titled Non Ci Lasceremo Mai and sung by Luciano Rondinella. On Il Padrino Parte II - The Big Band Sound from 1975 as We Will Never Part. - Every Time I Look In Your Eyes first was on the The Godfather's Family Wedding Album. Secondly on Part II's OST, with segments of The Godfather Waltz and Kay. Thirdly, a very similar arrangement on Il Padrino Parte II - The Big Band Sound. Composed by Coppola. - The Godfather's Waltz was composed by Nino Rota and released on the OST as The Godfather Waltz. So was Michael's Theme, where it was called The New Godfather, instead. - The Godfather's Fox Trot first appeard on The Godfather Family Wedding Album as The Godfather Fox. Composed by Coppola. - Senza Mamma was composed by Francesco Pennino (Francis Ford's grandfather). In Part II, Livio Giorgi (portraying Peppino) sings it. Not to be mistaken with Puccini's 1918 opera Suor Angelica! First released on Part II's OST as a mashup with Ciuri-Ciuri (sometimes spelled as Sciuri-Sciuiri, a Sicilian folk song) and the next track, Napule Ve Salute, which also was composed by Pennino. Then on Il Padrio Parte II - The Big Band Sound. - Marcia Religiosa and Festa March were composed by Coppola and released on Part II's OST. - Kay's Theme was composed by Rota and released as Kay on Part II's OST. So was A New Carpet. The Immigrant-Main Theme was the main theme to Part II and first released on it's OST as Main Title/The Immigrant. Also composed by Rota. This is the first print from 1977, released by Sunnydale Records. Digitzed and edited by Nikiforos Panouryias in August 2021. It has since been remastered and re-released in 1991 through Silva Screen in the UK and Silva Treasury in the US and in 1997 by New Sounds Multimedia in Italy. Thpse versions have a different cover, with the silhouettes of two mobsters in front of a 1930s car on a black backgorund.
