Michael Gotthard Fischer +••.••(...)): Fuge I d-moll Michael Gotthard Fischer wurde 1773 in Alach bei Erfurt geboren. Er war ein Schüler Johann Christian Kittels und trat später dessen Nachfolge als Organist der Erfurter Predigerkirche an; daneben wirkte er auch an der Barfüßerkirche als Organist bis 1820, als er wegen eines Gichtleidens seine Organistenämter niederlegen mußte. Ab 1816 unterrichtete Fischer am Lehrerseminar Erfurt Generalbass und Orgel, wo u.a. August Gottfried Ritter, Ludwig Ernst Gebhardi und August Eduard Grell seine Schüler waren. Fischer schuf zahlreiche Vokal- und Instrumentalkompositionen für verschiedene Besetzungen, doch hat er vor allem durch seine Orgelwerke Bekanntheit erlangt.
