Damin Spritzer Herbert Howells Latrobe
The powerful music of Herbert Howells and the incomparable artistry of Damin Spritzer come together in the otherworldly acoustic and beauty of St. Vincent Archabbey, in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. The John-Paul Buzard Opus 40 Organ is the vehicle for this poignant centennial commemoration of World War One, during which the piece was composed.

Dynamis for violin and pianoforte (1998) Composed by Eve Duncan. Performance at the 2011 Resonance Music Series / Melbourne Composers' League 'At First Light' Concert Saturday, 24 September, 2011, Trinity Uniting Church, Brighton, Melbourne, Australia Michael Kieran Harvey (pianoforte) and Tim Veldman (violin). The Dynamis are known in esoteric cosmology as the spirits that brought into an inert universe its movement and motion. The opening movement explores the emerging of the Dynamis from a universe existing in permanent stasis. The second movement looks at the role of the Dynamis in bringing life to humans from the energy and vitality of the stars. The third explores the role of the Dynamis in bringing movement through time into inner life and meditation. Dynamis was composed for Tim Veldman in 1998. Eve Duncan gained her Master of Music at the University of Melbourne with Brenton Broadstock and Honours in Music Composition at Latrobe University. Her awards include first prize in the International Music Prize for Excellence in Composition (Greece), second prize in the Recital Music Double Bass Composition Competition (England), and third prize in the International Modern Music Award for Composition (Vienna). Her music has been performed in many Asian Composers' League Festivals, where she has also served upon their Executive Committee, the ISCM World Music Days Festival as well as in North America and Europe. Recent works include Butterfly Modernism for piano quintet, inspired by the artistry and proportions of beach house architecture on the Mornington Peninsular, Dredge, a collaboration with photographer Siri Hayes for Speak Percussion, which looked at issues raised uncovered by the dredging of Port Phillip Bay; and Madonna and Child with Goldfinch for mezzo soprano and string quartet with words from a poem by David Malouf. This is part of the composer's investigation through myth and spiritual philosophies of the invisible elements that underlie the created world.
