Kori Lira, ky emër kaq i vjetër përmban ne vetvete thesarin e kengeve te qytetit duke u bere simboli i vetëm i kenges qytetare korçare. Kori “Lira” është formuar rreth viteve 1917 – 1922 si vazhdimësi e formacioneve instrumentale – korale dhe e grupeve te asaj kohe “Djelmeria Korçare”, “Kori i ushtrisë”. Ne shtypin e kohës thuhet se koncertin e pare e ky grup koral e dha bashke me bandën “Vatra” ne palestrën e qytetit me 22 tetor 1922, date e cila u quajt nga populli korçar si dita e themelimit te këtij grupi. Pas vitit 1928 drejtimin e këtij grupi e mori profesori i ri i muzikës i cili kishte mbaruar studimet e larta ne Konservatorin e Bukureshtit, zoti Sotir Kozmo. Ai si profesionist punoi për rritjen e cilesise se grupit por ka edhe meritën sepse ngriti te parin grup koral me vajza ne qytetin e Korçës. Meritën kryesore ne këtë zhvillim e kishte rinia korçare, si edhe ata qe shkruan tekstet e kengeve dhe kompozuan muzikën për to siç janë : Mihal Grameno, Thoma Nasi, Spiridon Ilo, Koli Rodhe, Mihal Ballkameni dhe shume te tjerët te cilët kane mbetur anonime. Gjate këtyre 83 viteve te ekzistencës se tij, grupi ka ekzistuar me shume se 200 kenge patriotike, lirike dhe satirikete trevës se Korçës. Vlen te theksojmë se ne ngritje te emrit te Korit “Lyra” kane influencuar edhe koncertet e përbashkëta me artistet e mirënjohur si Tefta Tashko Koço, Kristaq Antoniu, Jorgjica Filce, Gaqo Cako si dhe me pianistet e njohura, Lola Gjoka dhe Karmen Nako. Gjate viteve te ekzistencës se tij ky grup ka ndryshuar vazhdimisht perberjen si te drejtueseve ashtu edhe te pjesëtareve te cilët largohen kryesisht për arsye moshe. Pas vitit 1944 “timonin” e grupit e mori zoti Kristaq Osmanilli i cili u largua ne vitin 1979. Qe nga ky vit drejtimin e grupit e mori dirigjenti Jorgaq Nano me titullin e larte “Artisti i Merituar” i cili po drejton atë me aftësi dhe kompetence profesionale edhe sot. (2009)

His lyric-dramatic repertoire contains Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberflöte, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Don Pasquale, L'elisir d'amore, Lucia di Lamermoor, Faust, La Traviata, Rigoletto, Don Carlo, Un ballo in maschera, Falstaff, La Bohéme, Nabucco, Tosca, Gianni Schicchi, Turandot, Les contes d'Hoffmann, Freischütz, The bartered Bride, Lakmé, Boris Godunov, Aleko, Prince Igor, Andrea Chenier, Evgheni Onegin, Pique Dame, Jenufa, Tannhäuser,Walkiria,and Romanian operas Pana Lesnea Rusalim(Constantinescu), Neamul Soimarestilor(Jarda), Ion Voda cel Cumplit, Orfeu(Dumitrescu), Horia(Bretan), operetta Merry widow, Let me sing(Dendrino), Ana Lugojana(Barbu). Strauss) Vocal symphonic repertoire: Fight between Phoebus and Pan(Bach), IX Symphony(Beethoven), Requiem(Mozart and Verdi), Damnation de Faust(Berlioz), Lupta cu inertia(Vieru), Cantata no. 2 (Niculescu), Constelatia omului(Olah). Prizes: Vienna World Youth Festival(1959), Geneva(1959), Prague Springtime(1960) Czech Medal Bedrich Smetana for role of Jenik from The bartered bride(1974).
