Born in 1992, Savitri read Music at Christ Church, Oxford, graduating with First Class Honours, and is currently completing her Artist Diploma at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama studying with David Takeno. In 2015 she was selected for representation by Young Classical Artists Trust. Over the last year Savitri has made her debut at Carnegie’s Weill Hall and appeared as soloist with the Bournemouth Symphony, English Chamber, Welsh National Opera and Birmingham Sinfonia orchestras. Throughout 2015/2016 she gave recitals and took part in festivals and masterclasses across Europe including IMS Prussia Cove, the East Neuk Festival retreat, the Holland International Music Sessions, Musique à Marsac in France, the Sage Gateshead, Newbury Spring and Roman River Festivals. Engagements this season include her debut with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in a series of performances of the Mendelssohn Concerto. She returns to Wigmore Hall and continues to give recitals throughout the UK. Previous highlights as a soloist have included performances of the Sibelius and Tchaikovsky Concertos with Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, Mozart with the Barbican Young Orchestra and Mendelssohn with the English Festival Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall. A committed chamber musician Savitri has collaborated with Susan Tomes, Christoph Richter, Steven Isserlis, Andrew Marriner and Alasdair Beatson, and regularly gives recitals with the Grier Trio (including her sister Indira and father Francis). In 2014 the Trio gave their first performance of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto, and performed Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time with Andrew Marriner at King’s College Chapel, Cambridge. Savitri is grateful for support from Help Musicians UK, the Philharmonia Orchestra/Martin Musical Scholarship Fund, Hattori Foundation and the Countess of Munster Musical Trust. Awards include 1st Prize at the Oxford Philomusica and Tunbridge Wells International Competitions. In 2015 she was selected for the Philip & Dorothy Green Award for Young Concerts Artists. She has participated in masterclasses with Ferenc Rados, Johannes Goritski, Maxim Vengerov, András Keller, Anne-Sophie Mutter and Thomas Adès, among others. Savitri plays on a Matteo Goffriller violin on generous loan from the Aidan Woodcock Charitable Trust.

PROSOPA - FACES KATERINA MINA «Πρόσωπα», με τον Βασίλη Παναγή KATERINA MINÁ, SOPRANO www.katerinamina.com Katerina Miná is making a name for herself as one of the finest sopranos of her generation. Originally a pianist and a music teacher, Katerina completed a BMus (Hons) Degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Music Performance (Opera) at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Her opera studies were sponsored by the Corporation of London, the A.G. Leventis Foundation, and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. The Greek Cypriot soprano was a prize winner in two international singing competitions, the "1st Concorso Vocale Internazionale di Musica Sacra" in Rome, and the "7th Julian Gayarre International Singing Competition" in Spain. Katerina is based in London where she continues her vocal studies with soprano Janice Chapman. Katerina recently sang the role of Violetta from La Traviata in Kuwait, and appeared at Megaron in Athens with the National Symphony Orchestra and Chorus of ERT, in C. Pitta‟s symphonic work 1973 for soprano, orchestra, chorus and electronic sound track. With the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow she performed the role of Nedda I Pagliacci. Most recently Katerina sang the title role from Poulenc‟s opera La Voix Humaine within the Kypria International Music Festival and she appeared as Fiordiligi Cosi Fan Tutte on a tour in the Far-East and Middle-East with European Chamber Opera. Other operatic roles include Donna Elvira Don Giovanni with Staatstheater Cottbus, Mimi La Bohème with European Chamber Opera and British Youth Opera, Karolka Jenufa with English Touring Opera, and Maria West Side Story with Oxford Philomusica. Concert performances include a most recent concert of David Fanshawe's African Sanctus in Bahrain, the London Song Festival 2010, and Beethoven‟s Choral Symphony no.9 at St. John‟s Smith Square. Other concert performances include Mendelssohn‟s A Midsummer Night's Dream with Stanley Hall Opera, Haydn's Scena di Berenice with the Georgisches Kammerorchester, Charalambous‟ Requiem for Heroes for soprano, baritone, chorus, organ and symphony orchestra, world premières of C. Stylianou‟s song cycles Of the Beautiful Kingdom for voice and piano, A. Sakali‟s oratorio Liturgy beneath the Acropolis with Oxford Philomusica, the orchestral songs of H. Duparc and oratorios of M. Theodorakis with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. Katerina has given numerous recitals and concerts in the UK, Germany, Finland, Italy, France, Japan, Cyprus, Greece, and the Middle East, and has recorded music for ERT, and CyBC Radio and Television. Her performance venues include, amongst others, the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron), Konzerthaus Berlin, Gasteig Munich, Hackney Empire, Buxton Opera House, St. John‟s Smith Square, Sheldonian Theatre, De Montfort Hall, Leighton House Museum, London Hellenic Centre, the „Juhlasali‟ of the Helsinki City Hall, Saint-Louis Cathedral at Les Invalides in Paris, Athenaeum Concert Hall and Theocharakis Foundation of Fine Arts in Athens, and all major theatres in Cyprus. Katerina represented Cyprus at the Celebratory Concert for the accession of Cyprus to the Euro Area with Christos Pitta‟s symphonic works Helen and Rime d'Amore (world- premiere), and was nominated to represent Cyprus at the 2nd World Delphic Games in Saratov; she performed at the Festivals „Roman River Music‟ in Essex, „EKON‟ in London, „Around the Piano‟ in Athens and „Manolis Kalomiris Festival‟ in Samos. Katerina was selected by British Youth Opera to participate in a Masterclass led by Tenor José Cura. Future engagements for Katerina include Verdi‟s Requiem at St. John‟s Smith Square, recitals at Megaron in Athens and London Hellenic Centre to celebrate Schumann‟s and Chopin‟s birthday anniversaries, further performances of Violetta La Traviata, appearances at Festivals EKON in London and 'Eure poetique et Musicale' in France, a collaboration with composer Michalis Christodoulides and the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, and a special appearance at DJ Ritu's BBC London Radio show 'A World In London'.
