Gioachino Rossini Barber Seattle Opera Opera Queensland McCaw Hall 2017
Wisecracking Italian composer Gioachino Rossini had a unique gift for writing music that was simultaneously funny and brilliant. In recent years McCaw Hall has hosted four Rossini comedies - each showcasing his knack for energetic patter, bright melody and chaotic act-ending ensembles. In advance of the October 2017 presentation of THE BARBER OF SEVILLE, here is a 2-minute montage of archival dress rehearsal footage highlighting the wit and vitality of Italy's looniest genius. THE BARBER OF SEVILLE plays October 14-28 at McCaw Hall. Visit seattleopera.org/barber for tickets and information.
