Jean Marc Savelli Lloyd Ashkenazy Parrott George Emmanuel Lazaridis Sussex Symphony Orchestra 2001
FROM JEAN-MARC SAVELLI Dear Mr. Perreur-Lloyd. Thank you for offering me the chance to hear your two concertos. Firstly, the music is magnificent, and very well-suited to both orchestral and pianistic interpretation. Secondly, listening to these two works evokes and corresponds to me the musical incarnation of our time, but also, mirroring existence in major megacities, and superbly representing Man's life within them. Your talent is amazing, Maestro. What realism and honesty in your variations which contain no superlative, and in addition, maintain a perfectly identifiable thread - in spite of the complexity of your music. The diversity and the instrumental combinations are achieved with great balance and respect. To conclude, I say unequivocally, (humble interpreter as I am), that you are rich in that which is essential to Man - emotion, sincerity, equilibrium; and, you are real. MAESTRO ASHKENAZY (Harrison Parrott) He enjoyed the piece and his feeling is that as it's well written in a very dynamic and jazzy sort of style, it would be best-suited to a young, up-and-coming pianist. MARK ANDREW JAMES - Conductor, Sussex Symphony Orchestra The work itself I feel is extremely good, it is very episodic and atmospheric! There is much aggression in the work and pent up feelings coupled with a painful agony which perfectly depicts those events (2001) and the eventual futility of it all. GEORGE-EMMANUEL LAZARIDIS - Pianist. The piano concerto is an exquisite piece, and I truly mean it when I say it is genuisly modern. Modern in a most original and meaningful way. It doesn't sound like anything else. And yet the sounds and rhythms it manages to create, refer to modern life: its REAL sounds and rhythms. You can hear familiar contemporary life sounds but created by acoustic instruments, and at the same time controlled and elevated into a great art-form. POLLYANNA GUNNING I think your music is really dramatic and exciting. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT by KEITH PERREUR-LLOYD But for the painstaking, time-consuming, in fact dedicated work of SUSAN MASTERS, ((http•••) ) - [I have the list of over 900 tasks she accomplished], none of my work could have been offered to the public. This includes the audio productions' embedding, the availability to all, of my full orchestral scores plus sound, and the responses from solicited conductors, soloists, orchestra directors, artistes, agencies, composers, pianists, instrumentalists. keith perreur-lloyd
