Titelouze: Magnificat on the Sixth Church Mode David Clark Little, organ The Magnificat has seven parts: 1) Magnificat; 2) Quia respexit; 3) Et misericordia; 4) Deposuit potentes, first setting; 5) Deposuit potentes, second setting; 6) Suscepit Israel; 7) Gloria Patri et Filio Jean Titelouze (c. 1562/63–1633) was a French composer and organist of the early Baroque period. Virtual Organ based on the fr. Isnard large organ (1775), Basilique Sainte-Marie-Madeleine, St. Maximin, Provence, France. A=390 Hz, (a whole tone lower than modern pitch) with mean tone modified tuning. Basilica Sainte Marie-Madeleine, a gothic church, was begun in 1295. It was built to contain what was believed to be the sarcophagus of Mary Magdalene. The organ has 4 Keyboards and pedal, 43 Stops and 2960 pipes.
