Eric Carampatan as le Marquis d'Herigny, and Laura Sage-Ruiz as Manon Lescaut in this performance of Auber's "Manon Lescaut" done by Lyric Opera of Los Angeles (LOLA) at the historic Los Angeles Theatre in downtown L.A. The theatre, which has long been in dis-use proved a challenging venue, resulting in lighting and set difficulties that were ultimately never able to be fully resolved. But the theatre itself is so oppulent and amazing, it really made up for some of those issues. And the performances, imho, were outstanding for a mostly very young cast. Stage Direction was by Arthur Freeman, and the Music Director/Conductor was Robert Sage.
