Breaking: French fire British arts chief
Le Figaro reports that the Théâtre du Châtelet has dismissed its British artistic director Ruth Mackenzie, following an audit which revealed ‘managerial and financial problems.’ Mackenzie, who arrived from the Holland Festival in 2017, previously headed London’s 2012 Cultural Olympiad, Manchester’s International Festival and, a long time ago, Scottish Opera. She has made no comment.
