[…] are all based on scriptural, liturgical, or other traditional Christian texts. Although there are passages where the music exhibits some drama, it is for the most part reflective and inward-looking, very much in keeping with the spiritual focus of the texts. The sound quality is warm, spacious, and inviting. This is an album to treasure.Lise Davidsen: Christmas from Norway. HBCU Alumni Alliance To Host July 4th Virtual “Fire Up the Vote”

In many ways, these prominent HBCU graduates took charge in educating and rallying the Black community to be politically active. To continue on that positive path, the HBCU Alumni Alliance asks you to show up and show out in your future local, state, and national elections. In partnership with the League of Women Voters (LWV), the HBCU Alumni Alliance will be hosting a Virtual Cookout on voting awareness to rally the people to get out and vote! There will be live music by DJs from Atlanta, Chicago, and Washington, DC getting you in the mood to "FIRE UP THE VOTE!" We hope you tune in […]

Jane Evers, despite never singing a note, gives an absolutely priceless turn as a downtrodden Maid who has to scuttle around after Don Pasquale, yet still shows her own sense of spirit, and she deserves to take her bow with the other principals at the curtain call. In the pit, it is obvious that Evelino Pidò has the total measure of the score from the very first few notes of the Overture, and the overall result […]
