#Metoo: 653 Swedish opera singers say they were sexually harassed
A statement signed by 653 female opera singers in Sweden maintains that they suffered harassment and sexual misconduct by powerful men in the classic music industry. Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra & Swedish Radio Choir/Ticciati (Linn) (2 CDs)We have heard too little of Robin Ticciati recently, as an injury took him out of Glyndebourne’s new Béatrice et Bénédict this summer. Netrebko in Don Giovanni
The opera “Don Giovanni” by Mozart is one of my great favorites. This is a llive recording of Don Giovanni from the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Germany. Opera Today wrote that “Schrott creates Don Giovanni in all his malevolent glory — virile, confident, arrogant. He is bursting with animal sexuality, yet manages to hint at the manic obsession that drives the character. Stunning.” Here for your own enjoyment is a recording of the opera from La Scala Milan, under the direction of Daniel Barenboim. (Recording starts with the Italian National Anthem): […]

Afterwards all the artists sat down in the foyer for an autograph session. The hall was completely overcrowded, but the singers were in a funny and playful mood. Erwin began drumming on the table and all the others joined him and made a hell of a noise. Then they […]
