Based on a legendary character of Czech culture, it is a kind of Czech Fidelio: here too the protagonist disguises herself as a man to try to save the hero. After listening to Smetana’s Dalibor conducted by Krombholc, I was fascinated with the Czech soprano Nadiezda Kniplova.
