The audience gave the dancers rapturous applause. For me they rather inappropriately upstaged the chorus, the orchestra, and Mozart’s music, in one of the composer’s most solemn works that sets perhaps the darkest of all the Catholic rites. UTRGV musicians had a successful appearance at the recent Texoma Regional Conference of the National Association of Teachers of Singing , where they competed against students from schools or departments of music in Texas, Oklahoma and eastern New Mexico.
