“Anima Sacra” – Jakub Józef Orliński, Il Pomo d'Oro, Maxim Emelyanychev – Live at Théâtre Impérial de Compiègne, November 16, 2018
Polish countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński releases Anima Sacra, his debut album on Erato, October 26, 2018. Featuring eleven Neapolitan arias, the album includes eight world premiere recordings of works from Nicola Fago, Francesco Durante, Francesco Feo, Domenico Sarro and Domingo Terradellas. Other arias are from Gaetano Schiassi, Jan Dismas Zelenka, Johann Hasse, and Johann Heinichen. Accompanying Orliński on the album is the ensemble il pomo d'oro conducted by Maxim Emelyanychev.Orliński, who was born in Warsaw, Poland and trained at the Juilliard School, was the 2016 winner of the Metropolitan Opera's National Council Auditions. He was praised by The New York Times for combining "beauty of tone and an uncommon unity of color and polish across his range".Orliński and il pomo d'oro go on an international recital tour, including performances in France, Belgium, and the United States.
