A strong, rich and varied programme offers an exciting mix of opera, orchestras, choirs, singers, dance and chamber-music ensembles delivering a range of thrilling and exciting concerts ranging from medieval to contemporary music while a visual arts programme offers a nice contrast to the performing side of events. Noh Reimagined 2022: Spirits of Flowers Festival
Noh Reimagined at Kings Place in 2018 (Photo mu:arts) Noh Reimagined is a biennial festival at Kings Place that brings together Japanese Noh theatre with contemporary arts to create something intriguingly new. Hilary covered the 2018 festival for us [see Hilary's article] but the 2020 festival was cancelled. Now, Noh Reimagined is back with Noh Reimagined 2022: Spirits of Flowers Festival at Kings Place on 24 and 25 June 2022. This year's festival explores how the natural world is celebrated and interpreted in one of Japan’s oldest theatrical traditions, alongside what it means to our lives today. SNAP Art at the Aldeburgh Festival
[…] Britten” is part of the year-long celebration of the composer’s centenary at Aldeburgh Music. The result is a series of works that explore, directly and more obliquely, Britten’s legacy through film, audio, installation, sculpture, painting, performance, and photography. Artists contributing new work include Glenn Brown, May Cornet, Benedict Drew, Roger Eno, Mark Fuller, Ryan Gander, Maggi Hambling, Scott King, Abigail Lane, Simon Liddiment, Sarah Lucas, Emily Richardson, Julian Simmons, Cally Spooner, Juergen Teller and Cerith Wyn Evans. Writer and critic Jonathan P Watts has written an essay to accompany the exhibition and will lead this year’s SNAP discussion on Friday 21 June at 5.30pm (advance booking necessary Box Office 01728 687110).
