I have had the pleasure of listening and following the career of Tabea Zimmermann for many years. She is originally from Germany. She was married to an Israeli conductor who died as a young man. As a result of that connection she learned Hebrew, and actually she speaks the language quite well. Her husband was the conductor David Shallon (1950-2000), father of her two sons Yuval and Jonathan. I have always found her playing to be highly expressive, and I particularly liked her playing of music by Schumann and Brahms. In the video below, she plays an arrangement of the
