Launch of Hindemith Complete Works for Violin & Piano
Roman Mints by Rimma Bartov (courtesy of the artist) Yesterday, Friday 4 April 2019, there was the launch for violinist Roman Mints and pianist Alexander Kobrin's exciting new disc Hindemith Complete Works for Violin & Piano, Kleine Sonata for Viola D'Amore & Piano at the Saville Club. Alexander Kobrin by Rimma Bartov (courtesy of the artist) The disc is being released today on the Quartz Music label, and features all the music Hindemith wrote for violin and piano, as well as the sonata for viola d'amore. Hindemith was a distinguished string player in his own right (he gave the premiere of the Walton Viola Concerto), and taught himself to play the viola d'amore before writing a sonata for it!The launch took place in a delightfully grand neo-Roccoco at the Saville Club.
