ACTUALIZACIÓN DE 2015: Alguien subió a YouTube una genial versión cantada: (http•••) * * * * * The peculiar resemblance of this song to the Mexican National Anthem was noticed by Paul Nettl in 1968. "It would be utterly absurd to question the authenticity of Nunó's composition, but there must be some sort of connection between the two melodies." (From his book "National Anthems", page 194). To be honest, I dare question Nuno's authenticity. (This piece appears in a 1948 Tom and Jerry cartoon called "Kitty Foiled"). I am sorry about the MIDI file, I couldn't find a recording of the piece. UPDATE: In 2015 somebody uploaded a great sung version: (http•••)

* * * The "Marche Nationale Mexicaine" (1849) by Henri Herz +••.••(...)) was the first Mexican Anthem, but it was quickly discarded.
