Teppo Hauta Aho Aho 1941 2016 2021
I’m very sad to hear the news that my dear friend and colleague Teppo Hauta-Aho has passed away. I’m sharing this video of a recording of his most iconic work, “Kadenza” for solo Double Bass to honor his memory. This is a live Recording from a recital given on March 3rd 2016 in the auditorium of the Institute of Music of Veracruz. Teppo was the most prolific composer of double bass music in history and he was a very humble and loving human being. May his memory live on in the musical legacy that he has left behind. Tushar Lall’s arrangement of Pirates of the Caribbean Music (originally composed by Hans Zimmer) on Indian Classical Instruments. This is his humble attempt to portray the power and versatility of Indian Classical instruments. This is a tribute to the original makers of this song and we thank them for their incredible contribution to music. All the videos, songs, images, and graphics used in the video belong to their respective owners and I or this channel does not claim any right over them. An arrangement is nothing without the stunning performances that bring it to life. I’ve been extremely fortunate to be surrounded by such people. Apart from spreading awareness about Indian Classical culture, the least we can do is appreciate the people who contribute towards keeping it alive. The incredible people who make our stunning videos come to life are also mentioned here. You can directly look up their names on Facebook and Instagram (with the same way its spelled here) and collaborate! The arrangements are performed with him and some amazing musicians. Tushar is attempting to knit classical Indian tones into the script of western music to showcase the beauty of Indian Music. It is one of a kind concept where a fusion of Indo-western styles of music produces a concoction which is deeply emotive as well as thought-provoking showing that music transcends boundaries and has no language. This overwhelming support and love from people make TIJP do what they're doing! Cheers!

MADELINE SLETTEDAHL, piano KAYLEIGH DECKER, mezzo-soprano Text by B. Galeron de Calone Translation: In the immense sadness In the immense sadness and in the heavy silence, A step makes itself heard, a form advances, And towards a humble tomb she comes to lean over; O, woman, in this holy place, what do you come to seek? Why do you come to disturb the peace of the cemetery? Do you have a treasure hidden under some stone, Or do you come to beg, in the shadow of the tombs, Poor living woman, from the dead, a bit of their rest? No, none of that brings her here, (The moon at that moment illuminated this scene,) And what this woman, (Alas! The heart breaks,) What this woman comes to seek is a frail and graceful child, Who sleeps on this grave, and who, in his fallacy, Since it was there that he saw his mother disappear, (Sweet being!) imagines in his naïve hope That she is only hidden and that he will see her again. And they say that at night in a secret vision, When the blond child feels his head grow heavy, And his little soul is weary of sighing, His mother returns to sing him to sleep.
